About the role

Mill Pond Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our collaborative and compassionate team. We’re a community-focused practice dedicated to providing quality veterinary care while maintaining a positive and supportive workplace for our staff. This opportunity is ideal for a technician who enjoys a fast-moving environment, values teamwork, and takes pride in delivering excellent patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians with appointments, diagnostics, treatments, and surgical procedures
  • Monitor anesthesia and support patients during recovery
  • Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, laboratory testing, and imaging assistance
  • Provide nursing care for hospitalized patients
  • Educate clients on medications, preventive care, and treatment plans
  • Maintain accurate patient records and support daily hospital workflow

Requirements

  • CVT preferred, though experienced veterinary technicians are encouraged to apply
  • Minimum of 2 years of veterinary clinical experience preferred
  • Comfortable with anesthesia monitoring, surgical assistance, and patient handling
  • Strong multitasking and communication skills
  • Positive attitude with a collaborative approach to teamwork
  • Commitment to compassionate patient and client care

Qualifications

  • Valid Connecticut license
  • Current first aid/cpr certification

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping
  • Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and procedures

Pay

Schedule

This is a full-time weekday position with a Monday through Friday schedule, offering consistency and work-life balance with no regular weekend shifts.
