About the role
Coyne Veterinary Center - Portage seeks an experienced veterinary assistant to join our dedicated team. We offer a $1,000 sign-on bonus to new hires.
Responsibilities
- Routine patient assessments
- Anesthesia administration
- Performing procedures and treatments
- Communicating effectively with veterinarians, staff, and clients
- Maintaining high standards of patient care
- Multi-tasking and creative problem-solving
- Providing excellent client communication and service
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, with some college preferred
- At least two years of experience as a veterinary assistant
- Age 18 or older
- Detail-oriented and quick decision-making abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Physical stamina to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, stand, walk, and work in noisy conditions
Qualifications
- Strong customer service skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work with computer-based veterinary software
- Knowledge of animal care and restraint techniques
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
- Understanding of the services provided and their value
