Veterinary Assistant

About the role

VCA Cherry Bend Animal Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our team. This is a full-time opportunity, Tuesday - Friday with rotating Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Restrain and safely handle pets for exams and treatments
• Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas
• Absorb and support client communication
• Feed, walk, and monitor hospitalized pets
• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the hospital
• Sterilize instruments and prepare surgical packs
• Absorb and support laboratory sample collection and diagnostics
• Maintain accurate medical records
• Deliver compassionate care to patients and clients every day

Requirements

• 1+ years of Veterinary Assistant experience
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Passion for patient care and client service

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current state license as a Veterinary Assistant

Skills

• Basic computer skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Pay

$18.00 – $21.00/hour Pay range is negotiable based on experience, education, skills, and credentials.
