About the role
We are currently seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Vertical Milling Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining HAAS CNC vertical milling machines to produce precision-machined components that meet customer specifications and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate HAAS CNC vertical milling machines to produce quality parts.
- Load and unload raw materials, fixtures, and finished products.
- Verify machine settings, tooling, and program requirements prior to production runs.
- Monitor machine operations and make tool wear offsets or adjustments as needed.
- Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring instruments.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
- Maintain accurate production, quality, and maintenance records.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and communicate concerns to supervisors as needed.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and housekeeping activities.
- Follow all safety procedures, quality standards, and company policies.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year CNC machining experience required.
- Experience with CNC machine setups and operation.
- Experience operating HAAS CNC milling machines preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, part drawings, and specifications.
- Knowledge of precision measuring tools including calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Basic understanding of G-code programming and CAD/CAM software preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations and measurements accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
