About the role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Venue Manager to oversee daily restaurant operations, lead the team, and ensure consistent delivery of high-quality food and customer service at our Smithfield, QLD location.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the venue, ensuring smooth coordination across front-of-house and kitchen operations.
- Lead, supervise, and support restaurant staff, including recruitment, training, rostering, performance management, and team development.
- Maintain high standards of customer service, food quality, venue presentation, and overall guest experience in line with company standards.
- Monitor service efficiency during busy operational periods and resolve customer enquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally.
- Coordinate with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure consistency in food preparation, menu execution, and timely service delivery.
- Manage operational costs including labour, stock, food costs, and inventory control to support profitability and minimise wastage.
- Assist in planning and implementing promotional activities, special events, functions, and business development initiatives to increase customer engagement and venue revenue.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, liquor licensing, workplace health and safety (WHS), hygiene, and hospitality regulations at all times.
- Maintain accurate operational records including sales reporting, stock levels, staff attendance, and compliance documentation.
- Liaise with suppliers and contractors to maintain stock availability, venue maintenance, and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Proven experience in hospitality or venue management within a busy restaurant or similar environment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and develop front-of-house teams.
- Demonstrated knowledge of service standards, guest relations, and OH&S compliance in hospitality.
- Ability to resolve customer issues professionally and maintain a high standard of guest satisfaction.
Pay
Base pay range: $78,000 – $83,000 AUD
Schedule
- Permanent, full-time position.
- Onsite / standard business hours.
