About the role
Bourbon Event Center is seeking a full-time Venue Manager to oversee the booking and coordinating of events at a 15,000 sq ft multi-use entertainment and hospitality venue in downtown Louisville. This manager will work closely with ownership to create unique, exciting, safe, and profitable events.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate events with clients before, during, and after each event.
- Provide on-site support as the main point of contact for clients during the event day, ensuring the event timeline is adhered to, confirming any adjustments, and ensuring services align with contractual agreements.
- Help coordinate the hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising of live event activities and required staff.
- Establish and maintain relationships with vendors.
- Work with an outside security agency.
- Coordinate cleaning and maintenance personnel and vendors.
- Act as the liaison between ownership and staff.
- Communicate with industry organizations and build relationships with promoters, strategic partners, talent, and other potential renters for all types of events including weddings, corporate and private events, concerts, comedy shows, and other uses for the space.
- Help with other management and administrative tasks as needed.
- Order and maintain alcohol and supplies inventories at the venue.
- Control cash and budgets per event.
- Ensure continuity by maintaining communication with returning clients to secure bookings and schedule events for the upcoming year.
- Attend networking events as needed.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of work experience in the hospitality/event industry.
- Good organization and communication skills.
- Works well under pressure.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional customer service.
- General website and social media marketing skills.
- Strong leadership.
- Knowledge of venue contracts, operations, and safety.
- Willingness to work weekends or holidays as needed (venue is mostly slow or empty during the week and busiest nights, weekends, and holidays).
Pay
$40,000 base salary with commission and bonuses available.
