About the role

Join our dynamic team as a Vendor-Managed Inventory (VMI) Coordinator I. This role involves driving company vehicles, managing inventory, and performing tasks such as picking up, delivering, and setting up shipments at customer sites. You'll also assist with cycle counts, maintain 5S areas, and communicate effectively with customers and management.

Responsibilities

  • Drive company commercial vehicles safely and comply with DOT standards.
  • Affirm shipments and ensure accuracy.
  • Set up customer spaces and stock product.
  • Follow customer orders from pick-up to delivery and set-up.
  • Handle spot buy orders and relay information to CSR or Account Rep.
  • Scan barcodes to generate customer orders.
  • Perform VMI functions at vending points of use areas.
  • Maintain awareness of inventory levels and report observations.
  • Recommend changes to inventory levels based on usage.
  • Ensure bar code labels are updated and legible.
  • Communicate with customers and managers.
  • Present information and respond to inquiries.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least 1 year of experience or training in warehouse, inventory counting, or delivery.
  • Valid driver's license compliant with Vallen's standards.
  • Willingness to learn and work under supervision.
  • Ability to understand and carry out instructions and carry out tasks independently.
  • Proactive and positive approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong working relationships with customers, co-workers, and management.
  • Knowledge of company products.
  • Professional demeanor representing Vallen.

Qualifications

  • Physical demands include sitting, standing, walking, squatting/kneeling, reaching, grasping, pushing/pulling, twisting/bending, lifting/carrying up to 75 lbs, and handling physical inventory requiring hand dexterity.
  • May work in extreme temperatures and dusty conditions.
  • May require evening and weekend work.

Pay

The target pay rate is $20.60-$23.20 per hour. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.
