About the role

Maintain Transdev’s high standard of safety, inside and outside of the vehicle;
Consistently demonstrate situational awareness, an understanding of the technology in his/her care, and a willingness to constantly adjust to changes in the environment;
Be the deputy for technology by communicating courteously always with management, engineers, and the public;
Operate with safety as the primary goal;
Work closely with vehicle safety operators and provide detailed and accurate feedback about the testing;
Emulate a pedestrian, bicyclist, motorcyclist and/or motor vehicle driver;
Set up/build small props;
And comply with Transdev’s Autonomous Vehicle Division zero-tolerance policy regarding the use of alcohol or drugs during a shift, including randomized drug testing.

  • Work closely with vehicle safety operators and provide detailed and accurate feedback about the testing
  • Emulate a pedestrian, bicyclist, motorcyclist and/or motor vehicle driver
  • Set up/build small props
  • Comply with Transdev’s Autonomous Vehicle Division zero-tolerance policy regarding the use of alcohol or drugs during a shift, including randomized drug testing

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Meet driver requirements, including driving record and criminal history under applicable regulations and laws in the state(s) in which the self-driving vehicle monitor will be working
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience driving on public roads with a clean driving record

Qualifications

  • Proficiency with using a touchscreen smartphone (Android preferred by not required)
  • Good attention to detail and be able to quickly and concisely describe their thoughts
  • Capable of responding quickly and simultaneously to multiple scenarios
  • Adapt quickly to new and developing technology
  • Cross-functional verbal and written communication and issue escalation
  • Able to safely maneuver around autonomous vehicles
  • Able to spend up to 45 hours, in a workweek, either walking around, riding a bicycle, and driving a vehicle on a closed course
  • Able to withstand working outdoors in inclement weather
  • Able to work specific shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and/or weekends
  • Eager, self-starter, and demonstrate good judgment, in fast-paced, high stress environments
  • Punctual, reliable, and team player
  • Able to have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to safely maneuver around autonomous vehicles
  • Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Able to use close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Able to work specific shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and/or weekends
  • Able to travel up to 10%

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent talking, listening, and hearing

Pre-Employment Requirements

  • Must be 21 years old
  • All Transdev employees must satisfactorily complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check
  • Safety-sensitive positions will also be subject to a physical screening
  • Transdev maintains a Drug-Free Workplace and may require participation in a random drug screening program
  • Transdev will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories, consistent with legal requirements
  • Employees must maintain an acceptable Driving Record suitable to being approved to drive as part of their regular duties
  • Records are monitored on an ongoing or regular basis pursuant to local state law
  • If based in the United States, applicants must be eligible to work in the US without restrictions for any employer at any time as required by the USCIS
  • Ability to qualify for an Autonomous Vehicle Tester (AVT) license in states and positions where it’s required
  • If based in the United States, applicants must be eligible to work in U.S. without restrictions for any employer at any time; be able to pass a drug screen and background check
