Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Complete the vehicle checklist, restock, and clean ambulances in preparation for the units next tour of duty
- Perform daily facilities duties as assigned
- Ensure equipment inventory is available for medic units, i.e. backboards, straps, soft supplies, etc.
- Provide to the maintenance department any documents or noted maintenance needs
- Forward any other shift notes to the duty supervisor
- Perform minor repair of equipment including preventative maintenance on equipment and batteries
- Clean and decontaminate equipment
- Complete inventory audit for reorder
- Assist maintenance department staff as needed
- Perform monthly vehicle safety checklists and OSHA cleaning on all units
- Other jobs as assigned
Qualifications/Skills & Knowledge Requirements
- Maintain a positive working relationship with fellow associates, hospital and nursing home personnel, as well as the general public
- Manage resources and plan ahead
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have a valid State of Michigan chauffeur's license and have a good driving record
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- Must be interviewed by Life EMS designee
- Must meet all Life EMS employment requirements

- Lift and carry wheelchairs weighing 45 pounds
- Push, pull wheelchairs and lift during stair ascend/descend with 130 pound patient
- Pull vans wheelchair elevation platform
- Lift and transfer 130 pound patient from chair to wheelchair, buckle and unbuckle wheelchair to floor platform
- Ability to wear particulate respirator
