Role: Vehicle Operational Safety Standards Specialist Location: Palo Alto, CA or Ann Arbor, MI Work Arrangement: Hybrid, 3 days onsite Employment Type: Contingent Worker Duration: 12 months About The Role Woven by Toyota is seeking a detail-oriented Operational Safety Standards Specialist to support its Global Operational Safety and Regulatory team. The position will develop, implement, audit, and continuously improve vehicle operational safety standards. The ideal candidate understands vehicle operations, advanced or autonomous vehicle systems, software development and testing lifecycles, and the integration of safety requirements into engineering processes. This is specifically a contingent worker position. Woven by Toyota will not be the direct employer. Responsibilities Develop vehicle operational safety standards Implement safety standards across technical and operational teams Train engineering and technical teams on safety standards Assist teams with developing standard operating procedures Conduct compliance assessments and audits Identify compliance gaps and operational risks Prepare audit findings and reports Track corrective actions through closure Develop and improve safety procedures, controls, and documentation Analyze workflows and incorporate lessons learned into process improvements Manage multiple safety initiatives, timelines, and implementation activities Qualifications Experience with operational safety, safety management systems, or regulatory compliance Strong hazard identification and risk assessment capabilities Experience developing safety policies, standards, procedures, and controls Experience conducting audits and compliance assessments Experience documenting findings and managing corrective actions Strong process-improvement skills Project management and follow-through capabilities Strong documentation, organizational, and analytical skills Ability to collaborate with engineering, operations, quality, legal/compliance, and leadership teams Skills: compliance,operations,vehicle,safety,compliance assessments
