Vehicle Maintenance Mechanic

About the Role

Clean Harbors Baton Rouge, LA is seeking a Diesel Vehicle Mechanic to join their safety-conscious team. This position focuses on repairs and preventative maintenance of all company-owned fleet vehicles and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes.
• Move company equipment safely on the yard as needed.
• Assist drivers with addressing outstanding vehicle issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks and inspections on company vehicles and equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment, vehicles, and machinery.
• Complete daily checklists as required.
• Assure equipment is properly parked/secured in compliance with facility permit and DOT requirements.
• Maintain facility via housekeeping duties.
• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by management based on the needs of the business.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ years of prior experience working on heavy-duty trucks and equipment.
• 1+ years of DOT inspection experience required.
• Must provide own basic tools.
• Ability to pass a background, drug, and physical test upon hire.

Qualifications

• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Related mechanical certifications preferred (not required).
