Vehicle Condition Inspector

Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections of vehicles at dealerships, auctions, and off-lease locations to detect damage, missing parts, and mechanical issues.
- Prepare and submit detailed reports of vehicle condition, repair/replacement cost estimates, and related documentation.
- Partner with a Territory Manager and a team of Inspectors to assist in the sales process, upselling or cross-selling services and products.
- Interface regularly with dealers to ensure client satisfaction and build strong relationships.
- Travel to and from dealerships and homes to inspect vehicles, take photos, and list them on the auction platform.
- Sign up independent dealerships as buyers to utilize ACV Auctions' digital platform.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 1 year(s) Experience in the automobile field (body, paint, and mechanical repair knowledge).
- Customer service background.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Ability to work outside in the elements for extended periods of time.
- Problem-solving aptitude to meet challenges with resourcefulness and innovative approaches.
- Proven success to work independently with minimal supervision while working in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills to understand customer needs and expectations.
- Valid driver’s license and use of a validly registered and insured motor vehicle required.
- Knowledge of system capabilities, needed/job-relevant software packages, and web-based applications.
- Ability to perform manual labor such as standing for extended periods, lifting up to or more than 25 lbs, bending, and squatting.
- Ability to drive a manual and automatic transmission.
- Vision abilities required to properly identify small defects around and underneath vehicles.

Pay
The hourly compensation range for this position is listed in the "Job Details" section at the bottom of this posting. This position is eligible for additional compensation pursuant to ACV’s incentive compensation plan: the average monthly incentive earned by VCI's in this territory in 2025 was ($xx,xxx). Final compensation will be determined based upon the applicant's relevant experience, skillset, location, business needs, market demands, and performance (for incentive pay), and other factors as permitted by law.
