Vegetation Technician

Job Duties

• Maintain standard levels of vegetation in the area surrounding utility poles
• Apply herbicides to control weeds and grasses
• Use equipment to maintain appropriate levels of vegetation
• Follow contracts for work requirements and job specifications
• Collect data to monitor and manage levels of invasive species of vegetation
• Properly maintain, calibrate, and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors
• Able to complete Electrical Hazard Awareness Program and OSHA training
• Able to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Required: valid driver’s license
• PREFERRED: Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B with Airbrake Endorsement
• PREFERRED: vegetation control experience or other related work
• PREFERRED: relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
• PREFERRED: ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional®
