Based in Portland Oregon, we work primarily in the 11-western states with regional offices in Reno, NV; Phoenix, AZ; Concord, CA; and Salt Lake City, UT. As a Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) Technician, you’ll support our project teams in the development and coordination of construction deliverables derived from 3D models. You’ll be responsible for interpreting design drawings within a 3D environment, preparing fabrication and installation drawings, and supporting field teams through model-based workflows. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and eager to grow within a fast-paced construction and VDC environment. Work hours are 5:30am to 2:30pm Monday-Friday (with potential of overtime as needed). This position is in person and not eligible for remote work. VDC Techs At Harder Perform The Following Daily Tasks Clean and prepare isometric drawings for spool fabricationGenerate orthographic drawings to support field installationCreate TruView files from 3D models for field usePerform quality control checks on drawing deliverablesCoordinate with modelers and project teams to meet drawing and project requirements Additional tasks as needed by the project teams What you will need to be successful in this role: Strong attention to detail to recognize issues before they become problemsFlexibility to adapt to changing tasks and project needsWillingness and eagerness to learn new tools and processesEffective communication and teamwork skillsInterest in joining UA local469 to further training and education in VDC Education/Experience: Working knowledge of AutoCAD Plant3D and Revit (model navigation and understanding required; modeling experience is a plus)General computer proficiency (document control, email, file management)Experience working Navisworks and Bluebeam preferredBasic understanding of piping systems and construction workflows preferredExperience with scanning is a bonus Benefits (Wages and benefits provided by UA local469) Competitive salaryComprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefitsRetirement package This position is hourly ranging from $25.58 - $38.36 based on classifications listed by UA Local 469 (or equivalent experience). Qualified candidates will be required to join UA Local 469 prior to employment.
