VDC Department Manager- Raleigh

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a growing VDC department, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
• Oversee all VDC operations supporting mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through project completion.
• Establish and improve VDC standards, workflows, and best practices across the organization.
• Collaborate with Operations, Preconstruction, Project Management, and Field Leadership to ensure seamless project execution.
• Manage department workload, staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation across multiple concurrent projects.
• Drive BIM coordination, clash detection, constructability reviews, and model quality assurance.
• Champion innovation through the implementation of emerging VDC technologies and processes.
• Build strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, and trade partners throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Virtual Design & Construction within the mechanical construction industry.
• Strong background supporting commercial and/or industrial mechanical construction projects.
• Extensive experience with HVAC, plumbing, piping, and mechanical systems.
• Proven leadership experience managing and developing large VDC/BIM teams.
• Expert knowledge of BIM coordination, clash detection, fabrication workflows, and construction technology.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and team leadership skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
