Responsibilities

  • Performs high quality diagnostic vascular ultrasound examinations following Confluence Health's Vascular department policies and procedures, adhering to the current standards established by Society of Vascular Ultrasound.
  • Prepares a preliminary sonographer structured report including all pertinent data for the reading vascular surgeon in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Recognizes and alerts the attending reading physician of dangerous or critical findings which need immediate attention.
  • Affixes to the departmental policies and philosophies to provide customers with the highest quality service.
  • Assists the physician in the performance of venous ablation procedures and other special procedures.
  • Participates in the training and orientation of vascular sonographer students completing their clinical internship.
  • Maintains required continuing medical education credits for professional credential and IAC specific requirements.
  • Attends required departmental meetings, in-services, peer review and case presentations.
  • Participates and attends required quarterly quality improvement meetings and processes to satisfy the mandatory requirements of our IAC designation.
  • Maintains Professional certification in vascular ultrasound through ARDMS and or CCI.
  • Knowledge and proficiency with current hospital information systems (EPIC), Vascular structural reporting and PACs archive/ retrieval.
  • Basic computer knowledge required.
  • Desired: A working knowledge of computers, accurate keyboarding skills, and email communication.

Qualifications

  • Satisfactory completion of a formal vascular technology ultrasound training program and one-year full time clinical experience in a dedicated vascular laboratory.
  • Active status RVT or RVS or graduate from a diagnostic ultrasound training program (2-4 years) with at least one-year additional full-time clinical experience in a dedicated vascular lab and active status RVT or Approximately 2 years of college with emphasis on the biological sciences with minimum of 5 years full time experience in a dedicated vascular laboratory and active status RVT or RVS.
  • Valid state driver’s license and reliable vehicle transportation.
