Vascular Sonographer - Full Time - Days - No On Call - No Weekends

Performs sonography procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision, applying independent judgment and ingenuity to diagnose. Responsible for designated areas of procedures, specified sonography tasks, and may serve as an instructor.

Responsibilities

• Verifies physician’s orders in patient’s chart, prescription, and on schedule
• Explains the test to the patient and instructs/assists them in assuming the correct physical position for examination
• Able to assess patient pain interfering with imaging procedure
• Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors
• Selects a transducer and adjusts equipment controls according to the organ, depth of field, and other test specifications
• Enters test data and patient information into ultrasound equipment computer to maintain records
• Performs all quality control checks as prescribed
• Schedules patients to provide orderly flow of procedures through department
• Performs other duties as required

Requirements

• High School degree (required)
• 2-3 years relevant job experience in a Healthcare setting under a Board Certified Radiologist (preferred)

Qualifications

• American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification (required)
• BCLS certification (required)

Pay

$38 - $55 per hour
