Vascular Lab Technologist

About the Role

Sentara RMH Medical Center is hiring a Vascular Lab Technologist for the Cardiac service line non-invasive lab. This is a full-time, day-shift position. Candidates must live within 30 minutes of the facility for call purposes.

The lab performs close to 9,500 procedures annually and works closely with invasive cardiology (structural heart, electrophysiology, diagnostic/interventional cath) and cardiothoracic surgery services. Each team member is expected to perform about 7 exams per day. Preliminary reports are generated in ProSolv (Structured Report SW Application). Equipment includes state-of-the-art Philips Epic ultrasound systems and EPIC (electronic medical record). Both inpatient and outpatient echo services are located on the main campus within the non-invasive cardiology lab.

Schedule

Schedule can be either four 9-hour shifts or five 8-hour shifts with a start time of 8am. Required call: every 4th weekend from 8am to noon on Saturday and Sunday.

Responsibilities

• Communication with patients and providers
• Provide accurate diagnostic information
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of echocardiographic techniques, equipment, and industry standards

Requirements

• High School Diploma required (experience and certification required)
• Associate Degree preferred
• Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) OR Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) certification
• BLS required
• 1 year of experience preferred
