Vascular Interventional Tech - Full Time

About the role

The primary responsibility is to set up and assist physicians in performing a variety of special studies, including interventional procedures, which often requires sterile technique, the introduction of medical devices into designated areas of the body, and digital processing of imaging.

Responsibilities

• Assists physicians with procedures, performs patient care duties according to standard care plan, physician preference, policy and procedure.
• Prepares sterile table and environment for angiographic procedures.
• Positions patient to image anatomic structures.
• Manages the sterile area and can appropriately operate all medical devices with the assistance of the physician.
• Knows the functions and controls of the imaging equipment within Interventional Radiology and the Hybrid OR.
• Knowledge of the HIS/RIS computer systems as it relates to Interventional Radiology.
• Provide call coverage during off hours.

Requirements

• Licenses: ARRT(R) certification required, Advanced certification ARRT(VI) or ARRT(CV) preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of one year radiological technologist experience. Prior experience in an IR or Cardiology lab is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program.

• Proficiency with medical imaging equipment and computer systems.
