Vascular Technologist, Full-Time Days

About the role
Perform comprehensive non-invasive vascular ultrasound examinations using Doppler, duplex imaging, and plethysmography to evaluate arterial and venous disease. Provide exceptional patient care while supporting research initiatives, quality improvement efforts, and the education of future healthcare professionals. This position is 100% onsite at our Hyde Park campus.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive vascular ultrasound examinations in both the vascular laboratory and at the bedside, including:
- Venous duplex studies
- Arterial duplex studies
- Arterial segmental pressures
- Carotid and vertebral artery duplex examinations
- Abdominal vascular studies, including renal, mesenteric, aortoiliac, aneurysm, bypass graft, and stent evaluations
- Vein mapping and graft surveillance
- Intraoperative vascular imaging as needed
- Obtain high-quality diagnostic images while following established laboratory protocols.
- Assess patient history, symptoms, and physician orders to determine the most appropriate examination.
- Prepare preliminary reports and communicate urgent findings according to departmental protocol.
- Participate in the laboratory's on-call rotation for after-hours vascular studies.
- Assist with quality assurance activities, accreditation standards, equipment maintenance, inventory management, and departmental operations.
- Support research studies, quality improvement initiatives, and departmental educational activities.
- Provide clinical instruction and mentorship to students, trainees, and healthcare professionals as assigned.
- Utilize Epic, PenVasc, PACS, and other clinical systems to document patient care and imaging results.
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while maintaining the highest standards of quality and patient safety.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
- Demonstrated competency performing non-invasive vascular ultrasound examinations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in an accredited hospital-based vascular laboratory.
- Experience performing inpatient, outpatient, bedside, and intraoperative vascular ultrasound examinations.
- Experience with Epic, PenVasc, and PACS.
- Previous involvement in teaching, research, or quality improvement initiatives.
Schedule
- Full-Time (1.0 FTE)
- Day Shift; 10-hour shifts
- On-call rotation for after-hours vascular studies required
Pay
The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position, based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and current market data. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience, and organizational considerations such as internal equity.
