About the role
The Clinical Specialist supports one or more regional sales teams in areas such as market development, procedural coverage, troubleshooting, education and training, customer service, and follow-up. The position is open to candidates outside the CA Bay Area but requires residency within the region. Relocation expenses are not provided.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a regional plan to increase market share and improve service quality.
- Establish communication systems with Regional Sales Manager and Territory Managers to ensure plan execution and objective achievement.
- Build relationships with hospital personnel to expand contacts in other departments and facilitate future sales.
- Meet with customers to understand their clinical needs, goals, and constraints, and demonstrate how Company products can help them achieve their goals.
- Educate customers on the merits and proper use of Company products through presentations and demonstrations.
- Stay updated on industry developments and assist in organizing professional education activities.
- Aid in training new employees, including Territory Managers and Clinical Specialists.
- Contribute to the development of Continuing Education Programs.
- Provide clinical support, troubleshoot issues, and follow up with customers.
- Report and track product incidents, seek input from appropriate personnel, and resolve problems.
- Respond to customer needs and complaints by developing creative solutions and collaborating with senior management, sales, and marketing.
- Prospect and develop relationships with prospective customers, converting them to Penumbra customers.
- Secure and/or renew existing orders by coordinating product availability, delivery dates, and inventory levels.
- Maintain open communication with customers on programs, promotions, and pricing trends.
- Build relationships with physicians, lab staff, lab supervisors, and purchasing personnel.
- Adhere to the Company’s Quality Management System (QMS) and comply with relevant security, privacy, and compliance principles.
- Ensure other department members follow the QMS, regulations, standards, and procedures.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
What You Contribute
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, neuroscience, biology, or related field, plus additional training and certification in radiology, neuro-interventional technology, or related field with 3+ years’ experience in a hospital setting or in a medical device company, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Sales or marketing background preferred.
- Strong clinical, technical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to function in a busy, demanding, and competitive environment.
- Excellent oral, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize assignments and handle various projects simultaneously.
Pay
Annual Base Salary Range for New Hires: $80,000 - $120,000 / year
