About the Role
Under the direction of the Site Principal and Athletic Director, this position is responsible for the overall administration of all aspects of a comprehensive high school wrestling program. The primary focus is mentorship, recruitment, administration, and coordination of the program, with the total development of the student-athlete as the highest priority.
Responsibilities
- Identify, recruit, and coach student-athletes
- Develop practice plans and competition schedules
- Manage the program’s operating budget
- Oversee student-athlete academics and program compliance
- Supervise assistant coaches and other support personnel
- Ensure adherence to CIF rules and regulations
Requirements
- Minimum two (2) years of successful (recent) experience at the varsity wrestling level within the last five (5) years
- Experience working directly with collegiate and/or public school districts is highly desirable
- Bachelor’s degree desired; Master’s degree desirable
- Experience as a certificated staff member desirable
- Demonstrated ability to lead and direct a sports program
- Working knowledge of CIF rules and regulations
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
