Varsity Boys Basketball Assistant Coach

About the role

Lakeside School, an independent 5-12 coeducational day school located in North Seattle is currently recruiting for a Varsity Basketball Assistant Coach.

Responsibilities

This person, reporting to the director of athletics, will join an athletics program that includes 26 varsity teams, most of which have both sub-varsity and middle-school counterparts. This person is responsible for assistant coaching the JV team as well as the varsity team and middle school teams, as needed and available.

• Compliance with all Lakeside School, Metro League and WIAA policies and procedures.
• Commitment to providing support, messaging, actions, and opportunities to a diverse student body who come to school with different and evolving lived experiences and levels of preparation as student-athletes.
• Supervision and instruction of student-athletes during team activities.
• Manage the day-to-day operations from field set-up to game-day preparations to coordination of support staff.
• Maintenance and inventory of team equipment and apparel.
• Attendance at required program and interscholastic athletics program meetings.
• Support of multi-sport participation for student-athletes.
• Promotion of balanced achievement in all areas of school life for student-athletes.
