Assistant Varsity Boys Basketball Coach

Job Summary

Duchesne High School is seeking an Assistant Varsity Boys Basketball Coach. The position supports the school's mission by developing student-athletes in both skill and character, adhering to the values of Catholic education.

Job Responsibilities

• Support the head coach with all aspects of the basketball program, including implementation, promotion, and evaluation.
• Work with the current players and evaluate talent at the junior high level to identify and improve it.
• Implement offensive and defensive strategies as directed by the head coach.
• Scout opponents, attend and film games, and provide game planning assistance.
• Run and promote Duchesne’s summer basketball camps and off-season/player development programs.
• Gather and disseminate statistics for the basketball program.
• Communicate any issues or questions to the head coach promptly and effectively.

Job Requirements

• Previous coaching or playing experience in basketball at the high school, club, or collegiate level preferred.
• Ability to collaborate with the head coach, Athletic Director, and school administration.
• A commitment to the mission and philosophy of Catholic education, modeling Gospel values.
• Strong leadership, communication, and motivational skills.
• Pass a background check and complete Safe Environment / VIRTUS training as required by the Diocese.

Pre-Employment Screening
