About the role
The successful candidate will be employed as a teacher and as an Athletic Coach in Las Cruces Public Schools.
Responsibilities
- Teach assigned classes according to curriculum and state standards.
- Coach athletic teams as per the Athletic Coaching license from the NM PED.
- Maintain classroom and school safety.
- Participate in professional development activities.
Requirements
- Licensed as an Athletic Coach by the New Mexico Public Education Department (NM PED).
- Continued employment contingent upon the results of an FBI fingerprint background check.
- Certified employees must meet licensure and highly qualified status as specified by the New Mexico Public Education Department.
Qualifications
- Experience teaching and coaching at the secondary level.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
Skills
- Effective classroom management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of current educational trends and practices.
