Assistant Teacher
About the Role
The Assistant Teacher reports directly to the Director of the Dahlberg Gibson Learning Center and is a key member of the education team. Assists the Intervention Specialist in following the student Individualized Education Plans (IEP)/Individual Family Service Plans (IFSP) and planning activities that support the same. Assists in the provision of a consistently safe, structured, and engaging classroom environment.
Schedule
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM during the school year.
Location: Columbus
Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Early Childhood or CDA required. Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with young children preferred.
- American Heart Association HeartSaver CPR and First Aid certifications required within first 30 days in role.
- Must have Medication Administration Certification or be able to obtain it within 60 days.
- Valid Ohio Driver’s license with less than 6 points and proof of auto insurance required.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, Office365, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to travel within the state of Ohio required. Overnight travel may be required.
