Varsity Assistant- Field Hockey

Primary Responsibilities

• Aid the Head Coach in team management, including practices, games, and player development
• Provide individual and group instruction to improve skills and understanding of field hockey
• Coordinate preseason, regular season, and post-season activities
• Develop and implement strategies and game plans
• Assess player performance and provide feedback
• Build and maintain a positive team culture
• Communicate effectively with student-athletes, families, and staff
• Manage and care for team equipment, uniforms, and supplies
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes
• Use tools like Hudl to support player development and scouting
• Act as a role model, demonstrating leadership, accountability, and enthusiasm

Logistical & Certification Requirements

• Availability for practices and games, including evenings and Saturdays
• Activity vehicle license endorsement (CT A / NY E) preferred
• CPR and First Aid certification (training provided and required)
