Van Operator (Temporary)

About the role

The University of Georgia seeks a temporary Van Operator to transport passengers with registered disabilities in an accessible van to and from various campus locations in accordance with applicable laws and department procedures.

Responsibilities

• Safe operation of ADA vans according to predetermined schedule and completing the associated paperwork. (95%)
• Occasional non-driving duties such as vehicle washing and attending safety meetings. (5%)

Requirements

• Must possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Qualifications

• Good communication skills and an ability to work effectively with people of various backgrounds, physical, emotional, and developmental disabilities, and skill levels.
• Ability to work with a tablet, handheld radio, and learn to operate company software.

Physical Demands

• Sitting for long periods of time, lifting up to 15 pounds, and assisting in securing a wheelchair with restraints.

Pay

$17.896635 / hr

Schedule

Hours and schedule may vary and include weekends.
