About the Role

In this position you will support patients and staff by providing safe, reliable transportation to and from our facilities, while upholding respect, dignity, and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients safely and timely between various locations and the hospital campus or other designated sites.
• Maintain a daily log of mileage and gasoline usage and submit all gas receipts to the appropriate personnel.
• Clean the interior of the vehicle regularly to keep it presentable for patient transport.
• Keep mileage records for scheduling routine vehicle maintenance.
• Supervise patients during transport, ensuring safety and treating them with respect and dignity.
• Employ appropriate crisis‑intervention and de‑escalation techniques according to policy and procedure.
• Shuttle patients to approved locations as directed by a supervisor.
• Protect patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA requirements.
• Monitor vehicle condition, record any malfunctions or damage, and report them to management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience working with chemical‑dependency, dual‑diagnosis, psychiatric, and geriatric patients preferred.
• Minimum of two (2) years paid or volunteer professional driving experience.
• Valid driver’s license with a favorable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) and proof of insurance.
• Valid CDL preferred; three (3) years of commercial driving experience preferred.
