Key Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul a wide variety of industrial valves, including: - Gate valves
- Ball valves
- Plug valves
- Control valves
- Install, diagnose, repair, and maintain all types of valve actuators, including pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric actuators.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of multiple valve and actuator manufacturers and models.
- Perform testing, inspection, calibration, maintenance, and repair of Pressure Relief Valves (PRVs) and Pressure Safety Valves (PSVs).
- Conduct post-maintenance testing and verification to ensure equipment meets operational and safety requirements.
- Identify equipment deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
- Accurately complete inspection reports, maintenance records, test documentation, and other required paperwork in a timely manner.
- Maintain compliance with all company, customer, and regulatory safety standards and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with customers, supervisors, and team members regarding work status, findings, and recommendations.
- Provide professional customer service while representing the company at client facilities.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized condition.
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Valve Technician in industrial, oil and gas, petrochemical, refinery, or related environments.
- Demonstrated experience testing, repairing, and calibrating PRVs and PSVs.
- Strong understanding of valve operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting principles.
- Experience with multiple valve and actuator manufacturers and models.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and maintenance procedures.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass all required safety, background, and drug screening requirements.
- Valve repair and testing certifications.
- Experience working in refinery, petrochemical, pipeline, or midstream facilities.
- Knowledge of industry standards related to valve maintenance and pressure relief devices.
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
