About the role

Our clients rely on us to help them answer questions about value – value of their business, value of their assets and value of their financial instruments. By answering these questions for our clients, we enable them to critically evaluate transactions, refine their business models, drive optimal financial performance, and comply with financial and tax reporting requirements. As a member of our Valuations team, you will have an opportunity to work with companies of all sizes, from start-ups to multi-national corporations. Our teams work with both public and private companies in a variety of industries, including, but not limited to, manufacturing, energy, technology, telecommunications, hospitality, consumer products, banking and healthcare. The environment is fast-paced and we place a premium on exposing our professionals to a variety of engagements. You will have the opportunity to develop your critical thinking and finance and accounting skills as well as interact directly with senior financial executives. Interested candidates should display an affinity for learning and problem-solving skills. Candidates should display an interest in financial concepts and in utilizing models and technology to solve complex business problems. Your day-to-day may include

  • Gaining an understanding of client operations, processes, and business objectives.
  • Learning new skills, technologies, and Grant Thornton methodologies.
  • Working on a variety of client engagements that vary by size, region, and industry.

Qualifications

  • Minimum overall GPA of 3.0/4.0.
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance (required); minor in accounting preferred.
  • The willingness and ability to work additional hours, as needed.
  • Ability to travel to various client sites as needed.
  • Excellent analytical, communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective project and time management skills for handling multiple priorities.
  • Positive mindset for dealing with multiple tasks, deliverables, and learning new concepts.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a team environment while maintaining a strong attention to detail.
  • High aptitude to work with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
  • Embrace different points of view and welcome opposing and conflicting ideas.
  • Open mindset that is willing to learn new skills.
  • Uphold the firm's code of ethics and business conduct.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future. No visa sponsorship is available for this position.
