About the Role
The Valet/Bell Person is the first point of contact for all guests and members, providing a warm welcome and assisting with vehicle valet, luggage, guest shuttle services, and property tours during arrivals and departures. This role also involves answering general inquiries about the property and ensuring a seamless guest experience.
Responsibilities
- Open front doors for arriving and departing guests and greet them appropriately.
- Assist guests with luggage and familiarize them with their room and resort amenities.
- Serve as a shuttle driver when scheduled or as needed.
- Provide directions to in-house guests and members.
- Deliver messages, packages, and amenities promptly and accurately.
- Maintain an orderly and clean luggage storage room, lobby, and front entrance.
- Remain available in the lobby to assist guests and co-workers with requests or concerns.
- Acquire arrival and departure information from the front desk.
- Safely park guest and member vehicles while ensuring key security standards are followed.
- Communicate arrival, departure, venue, and hotel information to guests and members.
- Demonstrate knowledge of hotel and guest room facilities and services.
- Provide recommendations for local dining and activities upon request.
- Assist the front desk with reservations for hotel outlets and services.
- Review the arrival report daily.
- Maintain professional telephone etiquette, addressing guests by name with courtesy and respect.
- Assist with service recovery to resolve guest issues before they leave the property.
- Maintain a calm and professional demeanor in fast-paced or challenging environments.
- Adapt to changes efficiently.
- Deliver service in alignment with "I Am Proud" standards and department-specific signature touchpoints.
- Establish consistent and complete cross-departmental communication channels.
- Greet every guest, member, and team member with "I Am Proud" service standards.

Requirements
- Basic employment skills in clerical, service, or manual areas.
- High school diploma or equivalent (minimum formal education requirement).
- Experience with valet or bell person duties is beneficial but not required.
- Valid Driver’s License.

Physical Demands
- Frequently: Standing, walking, bending over, reaching, pushing/pulling, lifting/carrying 11–25 lbs.
- Occasionally: Sitting, crouching, kneeling, balancing, lifting/carrying 26–50 lbs., manual dexterity, fine and gross motor skills, eye/hand coordination, near and far vision, color recognition, hearing.
Work Environment
- Primarily indoors with overhead lighting and comfortable ventilation, but may occasionally work outside in inclement weather.
- May be exposed to noise, humidity, uneven surfaces, and operating motorized vehicles or equipment.
- Requires continuous teamwork and communication with colleagues and guests.
- Daily interaction with Front Desk Agents, Concierge, Valet, Sales and Catering, and Housekeeping.
- Weekly communication with Concierge, Front Office, and Sales Departments regarding reservations.
- Occasional one-on-one coaching sessions.
