About the Role

The Guest Service Associate is responsible for providing exceptional hospitality services to guests in an attentive, friendly, and efficient manner. This includes parking and retrieving guest vehicles in a prompt yet safe manner, assisting guests with luggage (including delivery and pick-up during arrival and departure), and addressing guest inquiries about local attractions, amenities, and services.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a pleasant, friendly, and professional demeanor with all guests, co-workers, and clients. Acknowledges and greets guests within five feet with a professional and friendly demeanor, using their last names during interactions.
  • Uses salutation of the day and welcomes guests to the location. Practices proper Towne Park phone etiquette. Posts up in designated areas when not completing tasks.
  • Parks and retrieves vehicles while driving slowly and cautiously. Assists guests with bell services and luggage storage as needed. Opens all vehicle and hotel doors for guests.
  • Assists guests with directions, taxis, reservations, and other inquiries. Provides guests with information about outlets, meeting rooms, and/or amenities of the facility, as well as main attractions in the area. Delivers messages, items, and/or guest amenities as requested. Shuttles guests to approved locations.
  • Explains parking rates and retrieval procedures to guests upon arrival. Issues claim checks only after receiving vehicle keys and collects claim checks from all guests prior to issuing keys. Completes and maintains all ticket information, including key tag, guest folio, location of vehicle, damage survey, and claim check receipt. Consistently completes location on all key tags after parking vehicle. Calculates and collects revenue for vehicles when needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license for the state you are applying to work, or within a commutable distance.
  • One (1) month of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend standard English, including simple instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to add and subtract three-digit numbers, multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s, and perform these operations using units of American money.
  • Ability to understand 24-hour and military time systems, as well as rates applicable to time passed.
  • Ability to operate a manual transmission is highly desirable. Ability to perform parallel parking.

Pay

The hourly base pay range for this position is $12.50 per hour plus $5–$10 per hour in tips.

Schedule

The work schedule for this position is 9:00 AM–5:00 PM.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

  • The majority of work will be performed outdoors for extended periods, including the entire duration of a shift. Employees are subject to environmental conditions, including extreme heat and cold weather.
  • Regularly required to talk or hear. Frequently required to sit or stand for extended periods and may need to run, walk, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Travel of up to 5% may be required.
