About the Firm
Brunskill is a boutique firm practising in the heart of Spinningfields in central Manchester. The firm has traditionally operated in the areas of crime, fraud, professional discipline, regulatory, coroner’s inquests, and public inquiries. We have a new and rapidly growing practice involving civil liberties, claims against the police/public authorities, and judicial review. Cases are high-quality, high-value, and complex, with many having a significant media profile.
About the Role
A qualified solicitor is required to work on the firm’s cases. The solicitor will also train, supervise, and manage other staff (subject to the level of the solicitor’s own experience). This is an outstanding opportunity to work on high-quality cases and step into a management role. The position could be full or part-time, depending on candidate suitability.
Responsibilities
- Running a caseload from inception to conclusion, including investigatory and pre-claim work
- Obtaining expert evidence
- Drafting letters of claim and pleadings
- Settlement negotiations and litigation as appropriate
- Potential to be appointed in a supervisory role
Requirements
- Qualified solicitor with solid experience of actions against the police and claims against public authorities
- Good management and communication skills
- Ability to supervise other staff
