About Little Lambs Football School
We’re excited to be launching the Little Lambs Football School, a fun and welcoming football experience for children aged 4–6, based at Lostock Gralam Football Club. Our aim is simple: help children fall in love with football. It’s not about rigid drills or results — it’s about play. We create a safe, positive, and exciting environment where young players can explore the game, make mistakes, laugh, and grow in confidence. Our ambition is to see Little Lambs players progress naturally into our first Under-7 team, joining the Mid Cheshire Youth Football League and becoming part of the wider club family.
The Role
We’re looking for a Football Coach to help lead our new soccer school sessions each Saturday morning. This is an ideal role for someone who:
- Loves working with young children and seeing them learn through play
- Understands or is keen to apply the FA’s “Play Phase” philosophy
- Can create sessions that are fun, imaginative, and child-led
- Brings energy, buckets of patience, and a big smile to every session
Whether you’re already a qualified coach, a parent with coaching experience, or someone whose own children have grown up but you miss being part of the football environment — this could be perfect for you.
What We’re Looking For
- Enthusiasm and passion for working with young children
- A positive, encouraging coaching style
- Basic understanding of child development and safeguarding
- Ideally FA Level 1 / Introduction to Coaching Football (or willingness to work towards it)
- Experience of working with or coaching young players is an advantage but not essential
- Reliability and a genuine desire to help children enjoy the game
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver fun, age-appropriate football activities
- Create a safe, inclusive environment where every child feels welcome
- Encourage play, creativity, and teamwork
- Communicate positively with parents and caregivers
- Support the club’s ethos of football for enjoyment and development
Benefits
- A rewarding role helping children begin their football journey
- Support from experienced club coaches and committee members
- The opportunity to be part of a friendly, community-driven club
- Access to club training, mentoring, and FA development pathways
Pay: Competitive session rate, dependent on experience (further details will be discussed with the successful applicant).
