UX / Visual Designer

Responsibilities What You'll Do User Experience Design Conduct user research, interviews, and usability testing to inform design decisionsCreate user personas, journey maps, and information architectureDesign wireframes, user flows, and interactive prototypesCollaborate with clients to understand business goals and user needsPresent design concepts and rationale to stakeholders Visual Design & Brand Create compelling visual designs that align with brand guidelinesDesign high-fidelity mockups and production-ready assetsDevelop and maintain design systems and component librariesEnsure visual consistency across all digital touchpointsPush creative boundaries while maintaining usability Collaboration & Implementation Work closely with developers to ensure pixel-perfect implementationProvide detailed design specifications and asset handoffsParticipate in agile sprints and design reviewsCollaborate with project managers to meet deadlines and budgetsMentor junior designers and share design best practices Strategic Design Thinking Translate business objectives into design solutionsBalance user needs with technical constraints and business goalsConduct competitive analysis and stay current with design trendsMeasure and iterate on designs based on user feedback and analyticsContribute to design strategy and creative direction Requirements What We're Looking For Experience & Skills 5+ years of experience in UX/UI design for digital productsStrong portfolio demonstrating both UX process and visual design excellenceExpert proficiency in Figma (our primary design tool)Experience with design systems and component-based designUnderstanding of responsive design and mobile-first principlesKnowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive designExperience working in agile/scrum environments Technical Knowledge Proficiency in prototyping tools (Figma, Principle, or similar)Basic understanding of HTML/CSS and web development constraintsExperience with design handoff tools and version controlFamiliarity with analytics tools (Google Analytics, Hotjar, etc.)Knowledge of animation and micro-interaction designExperience with user testing tools and methodologies Nice to Have Experience in B2B or enterprise software designMotion design or video editing skillsExperience with brand identity and marketing designBackground in field services or similar industriesIllustration or icon design skillsExperience with design ops and process optimization Soft Skills Excellent communication and presentation skillsStrong problem-solving and critical thinking abilitiesAbility to handle feedback and iterate quicklySelf-motivated with strong attention to detailCollaborative mindset and ego-free approachPassion for creating user-centered designs Compensation & Benefits Compensation & Benefits Base Salary $100,000 - $130,000 based on experience Variable Compensation Annual performance bonus Benefits Package Generous unlimited PTO policy Remote-first with optional Chicago office access Professional development budget ($3,000/year) Latest Windows machine and design tools Fast-paced, growth-oriented environment Performance-based bonuses Conference attendance and learning opportunities
