UX/UI Product Designer
The Digital Stronghold is a collective of distinctive, high-performance consumer brands including Taylor Stitch, The Tie Bar, Boston Scally, Pedal Mafia, and Glade Optics. Together, our brands span menswear, lifestyle, performance apparel, and accessories, with a shared focus on thoughtful design, strong communities, and exceptional customer experiences.
About the role
We’re hiring a UX/UI Designer to help shape the digital experience across our portfolio of Shopify-powered DTC eCommerce brands. This is an opportunity for a designer who loves the intersection of design, technology, brand, and commerce — someone who can create beautiful experiences while understanding what makes customers discover, engage, convert, and come back.
Responsibilities
- Lead UX/UI design across our Shopify DTC eCommerce experiences, from homepage and navigation through PLP, PDP, cart, checkout, and account.
- Turn customer research, analytics, behavioral insights, and business objectives into experiences that improve usability, engagement, and conversion.
- Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Merchandising to take ideas from discovery through design, development, and launch.
- Help evolve design systems and maintain a high bar for consistency and quality across multiple brands.
- Champion conversion-focused design and continuous optimization, using testing, research, analytics, and experimentation to identify opportunities.
- Ensure designs are thoughtfully translated into the final product through strong collaboration with developers and QA.
Requirements
- 5+ years of UX/UI, Product Design, or Digital Experience Design experience.
- Proven experience designing for DTC eCommerce businesses.
- Hands-on experience designing within the Shopify ecosystem; Shopify Plus experience is strongly preferred.
- A strong understanding of eCommerce UX, conversion optimization, merchandising, and the customer journey.
- Experience designing responsive, mobile-first experiences across complex eCommerce journeys.
- Strong proficiency in Figma, including high-fidelity design, prototyping, components, and design systems.
- Experience using analytics, heatmaps, usability testing, and customer research to inform design decisions.
- The ability to work effectively with engineers and understand the practical realities of implementing designs within Shopify.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain design decisions to both creative and business stakeholders.
Skills
Bonus points:
- Experience in fashion, menswear, apparel, lifestyle, accessories, or other design-led consumer brands is a major plus.
- Designers who understand that a premium digital experience needs to capture a brand's personality while still delivering measurable commercial results.
Benefits
You won't be designing for just one website. You'll have the opportunity to influence the digital experiences of a portfolio of distinctive consumer brands, sharing ideas, learnings, and best practices across the group while respecting what makes each brand unique. The Digital Stronghold describes its model as a collaborative environment where shared services and centers of excellence help its brands accelerate growth while retaining their individual identities. This is a role for someone who wants to make an impact, not just move pixels.
