The Role

As an AI UX Designer you will lead design activities that connect insight, imagination, and execution for the next era of computing. You will define mental models and interaction patterns that enable seamless collaboration between humans and autonomous agents, while enjoying trust, autonomy, and teamwork to shape the future for Kyndryl, its customers, and global industries.

Responsibilities

• Humanize Complex Intelligence: Lead user research to uncover pain points in the human‑AI relationship and create journey maps that translate multi‑step agentic reasoning into clear user experiences.
• Design for non‑deterministic UI: Develop dynamic interaction patterns that gracefully handle AI latency, ambiguity, and error states, keeping users in control of autonomous processes.
• Choreograph the Collaborative Loop: Facilitate co‑creation workshops and usability tests, balancing desirability with feasibility while collaborating with creative technologists and AI engineers.
• Master Human‑in‑the‑Loop (HITL): Design critical hand‑off moments where an agent requires human validation, embedding transparency and trust into automated workflows.
• Advocate for Inclusive Evolution: Champion ethical, accessible, and inclusive AI experiences that work for diverse users.
• Shape the Interface Era: Maintain a strong perspective on how agentic AI drives human‑centered design, using storytelling to align stakeholders across discovery to delivery.

Requirements

• UX/experience design or a related field with a strong portfolio of enterprise or innovation‑studio projects.
• Deep understanding of user‑centered design, interaction design, and usability testing methods.
• Comfortable facilitating co‑creation sessions and presenting to clients.
• Direct experience with AI, agentic AI/UX, and data‑driven design (preferred).
• A point of view on how AI can drive human‑centered design and co‑creation.
• Experience with emerging AI assistants (e.g., Figma Make, MiroAI, Adobe Firefly, Lovable, etc.).
• Fluent in Figma, Sketch, or similar prototyping tools.
• Experience working with developers and product managers to translate research into delivery.
• Excellent communication skills in English.

Compensation

The compensation range for full‑time U.S. positions is $63,360 – $114,120, adjusted for geography, skills, and experience. Specific ranges by location:

• California (San Francisco Bay Area): $76,080 – $137,040
• California (All Other): $69,720 – $125,640
• Colorado: $63,360 – $114,120
• Massachusetts: $63,360 – $125,640
• New York City: $76,080 – $137,040
• Washington: $69,720 – $125,640
• Washington DC: $69,720 – $125,640

Part‑time roles are compensated proportionally. The position is eligible for Kyndryl’s discretionary annual bonus program (or a sales commission plan, if applicable) and complies with all applicable minimum wage requirements.
