This position is available only to University of Utah students who have been awarded a Federal Work-Study Award for the current year.
About the role
Student will support research and evaluation work happening in the Outdoor Education and Youth Development Lab. The OEYD lab seeks to improve the state of knowledge on recreation as an avenue for promoting youth development and enhancing quality of life for all.
Responsibilities
- Prepares, verifies and enters data into computerized information systems.
- Corrects audio transcripts for research involving youth recreation programs.
- Screens academic abstracts/articles related to outdoor education programs.
- Assists with reviewing literature, writing papers, interviewing study subjects, administering surveys, and analyzing data (for students interested in the lab’s research projects).
- Option to participate in lab meetings during the academic school year.
Requirements
- Must be a University of Utah student with a current Federal Work-Study Award.
Preferences
- Attended or worked at a summer camp or another type of outdoor recreation program.
Pay
$12 - $16 per hour, depending on experience.
Schedule
- Up to 10 hours per week.
- Part-time, temporary position with day shift.
