Utility Worker - Janitorial

Location: Spencer, NC 28159

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning of restrooms, cafeterias, inside and outside entryway areas, and warehouse areas
• Vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, mopping, emptying trash, and spot cleaning carpet
• Operate various power equipment including:
  • Vacuum cleaners
  • Single disk floor machines
  • Automatic scrubbers (rider and walk-behind machines)
  • Restroom cleaning machines
• Obtain and maintain a level 1 Nuclear Access Badge
• Complete training and testing for areas required for access (PAT and RWT as assigned)
• Adhere to station policies and procedures
• Communicate and interact with co-workers, supervisors, and sponsors to ensure safe and quality job completion
• Follow oral and written communications, technical requirements, procedures, and directives associated with working at a nuclear plant
• Travel throughout the station, including ascending/descending stairs and brief periods in high-temperature areas
• Work in outdoor environments
• Lift up to 50 lbs

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
• Ability to meet all requirements to maintain unescorted access
• Safe use and proper operation of applicable equipment

Schedule

• 40-hour work week, Monday–Thursday, 10-hour days (4:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m.) during online periods
• On-call support as needed
• Increased work hours, including overtime, during outage periods (12-hour days, 6 days a week)

Pay

Pay rate ranges from $17.50/hour, based on experience.
