Utility Services Technician - Line Locator

Description

Under general supervision, the Utility Services Technician provides technical and data support for the Utilities Service Department.

Examples of Duties

• Ensures water and wastewater system quality and accuracy by field work, contractor/ vendor communication and direction.
• Inspects and inputs documents, reports, CCTV data and work orders to various databases and data collection systems.
• May serve as the technical and data support subject matter expert that may include but not limited to: CCTV repair, SCADA monitoring, line locating, parts inventory or cross-connection devices, work order systems, web-based GIS solutions.
• Provides knowledge of city infrastructure and ordinances to ensure proper compliance with all State Regulations.
• Assists other departments by providing services and support.

Experience And Training

• A High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Three (3) or more years of experience in utility services or a similar position.
• Aceociate or bachelor’s degree education may substitute for work experience on a year-to-year basis.

Certificates And Licenses Required

• A valid Texas driver's license or the ability to obtain prior to employment.
