About the role
The BIM Detailer I position at Baker Electric assists in the development of digital models for project delivery and maintains BIM standards. This role supports current and future projects requiring the use of electrical 3D modeling and drafting.
Responsibilities
- Operate 3D and 2D modeling software, such as Revit, AutoCAD, and Navis.
- Document, print drawing sets and manage data pursuant to Baker Electric Standards.
- QC and back-check own work for accuracy prior to sending to others.
- Utilize knowledge and experience in applying BIM principles for complete and accurate drawings.
- High level of communication and good writing skills.
- Perform project design activities from schematic design through construction.
- Facilitate model setups, keep files accurately up and running, and assist in assembling construction packages out of the model.
- Collaborate and coordinate with other disciplines on design changes and model challenges.
- Leverage BIM software and tools as a methodology to efficiently coordinate design documentation.
- Apply Trimble layout points, drawings and exports pursuant to Baker Electric Standards.
- Work closely with and take direction from project team leads and aid in completing projects with aggressive schedules.
- Actively seek new knowledge related to electrical practices, principles, codes and regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred (Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, etc.).
- Completion of design software courses, such as Revit/BIM/AutoCAD.
- 1+ years of experience with 3D Modeling / BIM, AutoCAD, Revit (plus).
- Proven ability to have outstanding computer skills, communication and presentation skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, be highly motivated, have a strong work ethic, and thrive in a frequently changing work environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office: Excel, Word, Outlook.
- Proficiency in Bluebeam, Procore, MS Project, or other related Construction Management software (plus).
- Familiarity with Salesforce and Sharepoint/Office 365 (plus).
