Utility Production: (Can Line 3 Kitchen) Wed 12:30am-6:30am Thurs-Sat 6:30pm-6:30am

About the Role

Supports the Production or Packaging portion of the Pet Food business.

Responsibilities

• Fills in for employees during breaks and any type of absence while maintaining the continuing quality of the plant operation.
• Fully operates all necessary equipment in the assigned area.
• Records downtime, can loss, lot numbers, temperature, and other report documentation.
• Ensures all areas are cleaned to standard and performs weekly sanitation.
• Participates as a member of the team, including ongoing development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies.
• Coordinates work to ensure B.E.S.T practices with all team members and attends appropriate team meetings.
• Fosters strong team cohesiveness regarding major issues (e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes).
• Identifies areas lacking cohesiveness and brings them to the attention of the team leader, working to resolve issues.
• Supports Simmons’ operating systems principles and objectives, including quality, security, and company policies.
• Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Background in manufacturing.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, including walking up and down stairs.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, ear plugs, and hair net.
• May be required to obtain and maintain a company-issued forklift license.
