Utility Pipe Top Laborer
About the role
The Utility Pipe Top Laborer serves as the lead laborer on an underground utility crew. This role supports pipe layers, operators, and the foreman by coordinating labor tasks, maintaining jobsite safety, and ensuring materials and workflow stay organized and efficient.
Responsibilities

- Helping direct other laborers
- Keeping day-to-day operations running smoothly
Requirements
- Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
- Class A CDL strongly desired
- High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred
- Punctual and dependable
- Able to work varied hours including nights, early mornings, and weekends as needed
- Able to tolerate and work in variable weather conditions and dirty/dusty environments
- Member of a Local Laborer Union, or willing to become a union member
- 3-5 years road construction laborer experience required
- Minimum 6 months experience in assembling and installing sanitary sewer pipe and manholes, water main, and storm sewer pipe and manholes
- Knowledge of confined spaces, OSHA trenching and sloping preferred
- Able to lift 75 pounds
