Utility Packaging - Night Shift

Responsibilities

• Performs various jobs within the warehouse or on the grounds as assigned, including pallet sorting, restacking, identifying product that does not meet customer specifications, rework, and sanitation.
• Participates as a team member in ongoing development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies; coordinates work to ensure best practices with all team members.
• Attends team meetings and fosters strong cohesiveness on major issues such as direction, annual plan, budget, and policy changes.
• Identifies areas lacking cohesiveness, brings them to the attention of the team leader, and works collaboratively to resolve issues while reinforcing actions needed for synergy within the larger organization.
• Understands and supports Simmons' established operating systems (e.g., quality, security, office environment, company policies) and maintains familiarity with the role’s impact on these systems.
• Communicates concerns and improvement ideas related to operating systems.
• Performs additional duties as necessary to support business objectives; the role is not limited to the described functions.

Requirements

• Must be able to work in a busy, noisy, dusty environment with temperature extremes.
• Must be able to work on feet for an entire shift and lift up to 75 pounds.
• Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): safety glasses, ear plugs, steel-toed shoes, and other PPE as needed or required.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain company-issued forklift certification.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English and perform basic math.

Qualifications

• Previous forklift experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
