Utility Operator (Elevator) Day Shift

About the role

The Utility Operator will follow the Ardent Mills core values of Trust, Serving, Simplicity and Safety. This role is responsible for general sanitation duties including the disassembly, cleaning/sanitation and reassembly of processing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Follow detailed instructions for numerous different tasks and maintain records according to instructions
• Work in various conditions and different heights
• Perform general labor tasks such as vacuuming, brushing, sweeping, scraping, scrubbing and washing of floors, walls, racks and equipment
• Process equipment cleaning
• Break down and reassemble processing equipment
• Fill out accurate and detailed paperwork
• Perform light maintenance activities involving rollstands, filters, sifters, and other processing equipment
• Occasionally assist in other departments as needed

Requirements

• Lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
• Work efficiently while being cautious and careful not to create hazards which could endanger self or others
• Have a good work ethic with high personal standards for cleanliness
• Be alert and willing to learn a wide variety of cleaning tasks
• Pass a physical abilities test with or without reasonable accommodation

Essential Functions

• Work in a plant atmosphere
• Perform physical labor of cleaning and work all day on feet on both dry and wet surfaces
• Work a rotating schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
• Work a machine-paced continuous process that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with conditions which include: Heat/Cold temperatures (inclement weather), Indoor/Outdoor environment, Dusty environment, Noisy environment, Frequent moving/vibration/ or other motion of equipment/processes, Elevated Places

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as is required by the operating areas (i.e. safety glasses, protective footwear, hearing protection and, at times, a respirator)
• Ability to work a rotating schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
• Ability to work a machine-paced continuous process that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with conditions which include: Heat/Cold temperatures (inclement weather), Indoor/Outdoor environment, Dusty environment, Noisy environment, Frequent moving/vibration/ or other motion of equipment/processes, Elevated Places

Additional Information

Competitive Compensation: We provide market-driven base pay, based on skills, abilities, and level of experiences. Our salary ranges are broad, and individual salary will be market competitive based on a candidate’s unique set of skills and level of experience. The starting range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00, with additional earning potential possible commensurate with experience. While the specific bonus plan and target amount will be determined based on the role and breadth of contributions, the targeted bonus plan and targeted percentage amount for this role is Bonus - OIP, 5% Annual.
