Utility Officer (Open Availability)

Location: Louisville, KY area

About the Role

The Utility Officer is a full-time, flexible role similar to a flex officer. Schedules are typically set one to two weeks in advance, but last-minute needs may arise. Availability for all three shifts is required.

Responsibilities

Our Security Officers protect the industrial or commercial property of our clients against fire, vandalism, and illegal entry. Clients include Class-A office buildings, luxury residential properties, distilleries, Fortune 500 companies, financial institutions, telecommunications, manufacturing/industrial factories, hospitals, and more.

• Maintain a secure environment for employees, visitors, and property by monitoring and patrolling the premises.
• Prevent unauthorized access and detect suspicious activities.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Minimum of 25 years of age.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug test.
• For posts requiring operation of a company vehicle: must be over 25 with a screened motor vehicle record (accidents and violations reviewed case-by-case).

Qualifications

• Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or military service is preferred but not required (training provided).
• Security Officer License (where applicable).
• CPR/First Aid Certification (preferred).

Skills

• Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to emergency situations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in using security systems, cameras, and basic office technology (e.g., email, Microsoft Office).

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, or patrol for long periods.

Pay

$16–$20.25 USD per hour.
