Utility Officer (Open Availability)

Location: Nashville Metro Area

About the Role

The Utility Officer serves as a full-time flex officer, with schedules typically set one to two weeks in advance. Last-minute shift needs may arise. Availability for all three shifts is required.

Responsibilities

Security Officers protect the industrial or commercial property of clients against fire, vandalism, and illegal entry. Clients include Class-A office buildings, luxury residential properties, distilleries, Fortune 500 companies, financial institutions, telecommunications, manufacturing/industrial factories, hospitals, and more.

• Maintain a secure environment for employees, visitors, and property by monitoring and patrolling premises.
• Prevent unauthorized access and detect suspicious activities.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Minimum age of 25.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug test.
• For posts requiring operation of a company vehicle: screened motor vehicle record (accidents and violations reviewed case-by-case).

Qualifications

• Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or military service preferred but not required (training provided).
• Security Officer License (where applicable).
• CPR/First Aid Certification (preferred).

Skills

• Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to emergencies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in using security systems, cameras, and basic office technology (e.g., email, Microsoft Office).

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, or patrol for long periods.

Pay

Pay Rate: $20 USD per hour.
