UTILITY & MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Responsibilities

• Operate landscape equipment and systems
• Assist with property maintenance
• Support daily field operations
• Maintain and service power equipment on a routine basis
• Document all work and services performed accurately
• Maintain and input new inventory
• Foster communication between management and crew members
• Perform all vehicle and equipment maintenance
• Troubleshoot and make repairs or outsource repairs on vehicles, tools, and equipment
• Maintain a neat and clean workplace
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment and tools
• Support landscaping projects including sod, mulch, planting, grading, and cleanup
• Troubleshoot basic mechanical or irrigation issues in the field
• Maintain clean and organized job sites, vehicles, and equipment
• Follow all company safety procedures and operational standards
• Work efficiently as part of a crew in outdoor environments
• Perform additional duties as required to be a team player

Requirements

• Knowledge of 2 cycle equipment
• Knowledge of small equipment
• Knowledge of diesel trucks
• Knowledge of gasoline vehicles
• Knowledge of light and heavy equipment operation and maintenance
• Mechanically inclined
• Knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance
• Knowledge of safety precautions
• Hand, eye and foot coordination
• Understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions
• Experience operating landscaping equipment and machinery preferred
• Basic knowledge of irrigation systems and landscape maintenance
• Ability to lift heavy materials and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Strong work ethic, punctuality, and teamwork skills
• Valid driver’s license preferred
• Experience towing trailers or operating skid steers is a plus
