Utility Maintenance Mechanic

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Completes service requests in a timely manner
• Performs electrical maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs
• Repairs restroom fixtures and other minor plumbing duties
• Performs minor building equipment preventive maintenance
• Replaces ceiling tiles and performs basic carpentry tasks
• Maintains cleanliness in and around all Building Operations Services facilities
• Paints equipment rooms and machinery
• Receives deliveries for projects, controls moving & delivery crew's use of elevators
• Drives up to 1-1/2-ton truck
• Performs any additional duties on an as required basis
• Safely uses all types of related hand and power tools

Qualifications

• High school diploma
• Three years building maintenance experience
• Strength and dexterity to perform physically demanding duties
• Valid driver’s license as required to drive any vehicles which may be assigned
• Knowledge of safe work practices and procedures typical of maintenance operations
• Ability to safely wear a respirator, climb ladders, enter confined spaces, lift heavy objects, and perform other physically demanding tasks
